It becomes hard to tell the differences when you alter everything in the image, instead of the seperate part of the clothing :)
I've added a image to demonstrate a bit more what I meant with the color variations (can alter more parts aswell, as the cloth, or the metal around the legs).
It might be easier for you if you work with layers that have palette changes intended, so that the trenchcoat might be one layer for you :)
